Micro-Needling produces results on par to that of chemical peels and laser resurfacing.
Dermaroller Micro needling explained
Micro-needling is performed using a roller with numerous tiny needles that penetrate the skin by 1mm. The dermaroller is passed over the skin a minimum of twelve times causing tiny punctures in the skin. These punctures result in skin injury stimulating fibroblast action resulting in collagen production after a period of six weeks.
Conditions treated with dermaroller Micro needling include
Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure
A topical anaesthetic is applied to anaethetise the area intended for treatment. The Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. Your skin is cleansed with antiseptic. Topical anaesthetic is then applied to the area.
The mechanism of action is the production of new collagen and elastin. It can take up to 6 weeks for visible signs of regeneration. Three treatments at six week intervals are recommended for optimal results. However in some cases, particularly with acne scarring up to 5 treatments may be advised. The number of treatments required will depend on each individuals response to treatments. Most people will begin to see results after the first appointment.
Dermaroller™ Therapy After care
After your Dermaroller ™ Therapy you will look as though you have had moderate sunburn and your skin may feel tight. This is short lived and subsides after 1- 2 hrs. Chiroxy cream is recommended to soothe and calm the skin. Within a week you will notice that your skin is smoother and more rejuvenated however full affects can take 2-3 months to develop.
Avoid make up application for 24 hours. If sun exposure is anticipated application of a broad spectrumUVA/UVB sunscreen SPF50 is recommended.
